The application for the 2013 APIASF Higher Education Summit Scholar Travel Grant is now closed.

APIASF is excited to offer a select number of travel grants for Scholars wishing to attend our Higher Education Summit taking place on June 25, 2013 in Washington, D.C. These travel grants are possible through the generous support of Southwest Airlines, a proud sponsor of APIASF and the official airline of the APIASF Higher Education Summit.

Organized into a series of presentations, panels, and breakout sessions, the 2013 APIASF Higher Education Summit will highlight fundamental elements of education, research and policies that are critical to higher education access and success that will ultimately contribute to strengthening Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) students, families, and communities. Many stakeholders are well positioned to facilitate equitable outcomes and build a long-term commitment to facilitating the success of APIA students and communities. Identifying areas of opportunity and impact addressing college access and completion gaps as well as removing barriers faced by APIA communities must be multi-faceted. The 2013 APIASF Higher Education Summit will provide participants the opportunity to engage in discussions revolving around mobilizing resources, advancing institutional capacity, and accelerating student success. The forum will conclude with a special reception hosted by APIASF and will be attended by key leaders in the education, policy, non-profit, private and public sectors. This event is free and open to the public.

Applicants must be current or past recipients of either the APIASF scholarship award or GMS/APIASF scholarship award. Verification will be conducted prior to awarding of the travel grants.

The travel grants will cover the cost of airfare/travel, lodging for the days associated with the event, and ground transportation.
