2007 APIASF Gala

2007 APIASF Gala Slideshow

September 20, 2007

APIASF hosted the second annual "Today's Minds, Tomorrow's Future®" Gala at the beautiful Waldorf-Astoria Starlight Roof in New York City on September 20, 2007. APIASF continued the tradition of bestowing the Inspiring Dreams and Excellence in Education awards to two honorees: the Disney-ABC Television Group and Samuel J. Palmisano, chairman and chief executive officer, IBM Corporation. Keli Lee, Executive Vice President for Casting, accepted the Inspiring Dreams Award for Disney-ABC's efforts in the areas of diversity and inclusion. Jon Iwata, Senior Vice President, IBM Corporation accepted the Excellence in Education Award on Palmisano's behalf for IBM's leadership in education, both within the company and externally. A full house of 360 guests attended the black tie optional event, which brought in more than $550,000 for APIASF. The evening's program focused on APIASF scholars who spoke and performed during the event. In addition, APIASF screened for the first time, a new video highlighting APIASF and the students we support. A silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items raised additional dollars for APIASF.

APIASF would like to thank all the generous sponsors and attendees for making our second gala such a tremendous success.

We hope to see you at next year's gala in October 2008!
