2009 Student Career Workshop
On November 5, 2009, APIASF presented its first career development workshop for students in partnership with McDonald's titled "Building a Career in a Challenging Economy".
This two-hour workshop provided guidance and advice from a panel of executives from some of the country's top companies on how to make the best of these challenging economic times and insights on ways that students can stand out to potential employers. Panelist included: Tariq Khan (Moderator), President, Global Diversity Marketing; Pat Sowell Harris, Global Chief Diversity Officer, McDonald's; Michael Fung, Senior Vice President, Finance and Strategy, Walmart; Captain Conrad Chun, Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations for Public Affairs, United States Navy; Dora Lim, General Manager, Sodexo; J. Cooper Abbott, Executive Vice President, Head of Investment, Co-Chief Operating Officer, Eagle Asset Management, Inc.; and James Eng, VP Store Manager, Macy's.
Following the presentations there was a question and answer session with panelists and the opportunity for students to meet corporate recruiters.
