APIASF Community Reception at East-West Center in Honolulu

March 24, 2014

On Monday, March 24, 2014, APIASF collaborated with the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa to hold a Community Reception in Honolulu, which was generously sponsored by the Asian McDonald's Operators Association.

The event was held at the East-West Center on the UH Mānoa campus and served to inform Honolulu leaders from all sectors about what APIASF has done for the state of Hawai’i, including the work done to have schools within the University of Hawai’i system recognized and funded as Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISIs).

VIP guests included Senator Akaka, Congresswoman Pat Saiki, Governor Neil Abercrombie and University of Hawai’i Interim President David Lassner alongside other influential local leaders in business and education, and APIASF/GMS Scholars and readers.
