APIASF Community Reception in Houston, Texas
January 31, 2011
The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF), the nation's largest non-profit organization devoted solely to providing college scholarships for Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) students, hosted a special community reception generously presented by McDonald's of Greater of Houston to help increase awareness of the needs of Asian and Pacific Islander American students and importance of scholarship opportunities in providing critical access to higher education. The reception held at the Sam Houston Ballroom & Conference Center on Monday, January 31, was attended by nearly 100 community leaders, corporate executives, educators and APIASF's outstanding scholarship recipients. During the event, three of APIASF's scholarship recipients from the Houston area shared how they have benefited from APIASF's programs.
"We are honored to support the APIASF and provide the opportunity to help raise awareness of the resources that exist for Asian and Pacific Islander American students in the Houston community," said Kevin Moore, President of McDonald's of Greater Houston. "McDonald's is truly invested in helping students make their dream of higher education a reality and that is why we are excited to partner with APIASF for this community reception."
