Nominate and Recommend a Student
APIASF Scholarship Program
A recommender should be an individual who knows the student and is familiar with the student's community service and leadership activities. A teacher, advisor, supervisor, community service leader, or any other adult familiar with the student could serve as the student's recommender. The recommender may not be a relative of the student.
APIASF will only accept one recommendation per applicant. It is highly encouraged that the recommendation be completed online.
Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS)
Recommender Form
A recommender should be an individual who knows the student and is familiar with the student's community service and leadership activities. A supervisor at work, a community service leader, or any other adult familiar with the student non-academic activities could serve as the student's recommender. The recommender may not be a relative of the student.
Nominator Form
A nominator must be an educator. A high school principal, guidance counselor, tribal higher education representative, or teachers may serve as nominators. In addition, any professional educator, for example, an educator at a scholarship assistance organization, education assistance agency, or educational outreach program may also serve as a nominator. The nominator must be familiar with the student's academic background. He or she may not be a relative of the student.
GMS requires a Recommender and Nominator form per applicant. It is highly encouraged that the forms be completed online at www.gmsp.org
